Salah Negm is Director of News, Al Jazeera English, based in Doha, where he has been since 2009. He studied mass communications at Cairo University and Florida State University before becoming a newscaster with Radio Cairo. This was followed as a reporter and producer with Radio Netherlands International covering Arab and Gulf summit conferences and Middle East peace talks in Washington. His wide experience has included appointments as producer and news editor at the BBC’s Arabic television service, Al Jazeera in setting-up the news department and Newsroom Chief Editor; Al Arabiya as Director of News after launch; Al Ekhbariyah as a consultant on setting up the Saudi news channel and on re-vamping Bahrain TV news operation and General Manager with the Middle East Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) in Dubai.
