While social networks are enabling individual users to directly speak to a large audience, they've also fostered ever more fragmented discourses around specific issues regardless of place but connected by interest.

These disruptions have also deeply transformed the way political campaigns are organized,  and how they inform and debate with the electorate. From Facebook to Snapchat, social networks are essential for candidates to address younger voters in particular. While memes and little viral videos have gained the potential to become political matters of debate, Silicon Valley is offering ever more targeted ways to reach undecided voters. 

The Fireside Chat "Innovation in the Election" will discuss the current state of technology in the race for the next US president as well as look at future innovations in campaigning.
